I like the physics based swinging a lot, being able to control my swords direction myself is great. It's something a lot of games just don't have. I don't know if you plan on keeping it this way, but it definitely works, especially if there was stamina as well.
Love the project so far, honestly I'm having more fun with this than a lot of stuff I've been playing recently. Look forward to seeing its future.

also sorry to bombard you with another suggestion to your list but it would be nice if you could mordhau the weapon but if you dont have gauntlets it would make your hands bleed and lose some health also make the enemys stay balances and meaty when slicing and stabbing
yea i would do half swording to but i think as you said in the dev interview with random madness is focus on the fun stuff first and then add on top of it i feel like the most fun ive had in the game is getting a clean swipe and maybe less falling over and also resistance when cutting

Maybe there's some techniques you can use for inspiration when it comes to the physics. If I could make a suggestion, is there a way to smooth/stabilize the first person camera? What a great start though, I'll be following this one closely.

I made an account just to comment this, the game isn't running when I open it. It shows the blue spinning thing on my cursor and then it just disappears and the game doesn't launch, is there a way to fix this?

I think it would be cool to add a sort of "weight" to weapons, like the greatsword would be slower to swing and the one handed sword would be faster because right now the greatsword is so op with the range and speed.

Thing is, all the weapons have real weight and point of balance. Their physical properties are "realistic". I need to change muscle power of the character and fine tune physics better, probably.

- how do you simulate the whole body and keep him balanced/upright?
- are you driving the physics to match an animation?
- is the walking done with IK/procedurally? (Using control rig?)
- what should I research to get going on this stuff?

- I cheat ((: I connect pelvis of the mesh to the collision capsule by a physics constraint. I set all the limits to free and use linear and angular motor to keep the body in place and upright. I constantly change the values of those motors powers so that result looks natural. Also I am not letting Collision capsule to travel too far from character mesh either, constantly interpolating its position back to mesh. This way both Collision Capsule and Mesh are kind of "rubber bound" to each other and as a result physics look and feel pretty good. Not ideal, but enough for me right now.
- I have this weird system where I have a hidden skeleton, which is not simulated and plays Anim BP. While actual character mesh that we see receives all the joint rotations from it and adjusts it's position by joint motors (if you work with joint/constraint motors, I do not recommend using SLERP in this case, just use Twist/Swing).
- All the animations are done procedurally here (so no keyframe animations for arms/legs) and I am also using exclusively Two Bone IK for every limb. For me it just gives better results. But you can do it using control rig too. If you want to know more about leg, I have tried several approaches for walking. the one I am using now is like this: before every step I trace the land at the location where I want foot to step on. I check the height, then I send foot IK effector to travel along the curve to that place, the other foot is trying to adjust itself too at this time. Once step is finished I do the same for the other foot.
- Unfortunately there is not much information about full body animation on Unreal in internet. But I highly recommend you to check this new feature (which still has no documentation)

Does it say it in the game or it crashes on startup?
If you can open up a game and start a level, press Esc (or P) go to settings and try lowering the graphics
if not.... there is an INI file somewhere, I will try to dig it up
if i setup to high graphic it not crash, but when in set it into xbox 360 or potato it crash and it say like that

i cant play the error is (the installed versin of the intel graphics driver has known issues please install either or the reccomended driver version)
Have you tried installing the recommended driver version?
When I have this error with Nvidia it automatically opens Nvidia web page to download a driver. If it doesn't do the same with Intel, I guess, you should check here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html

Damn... Unreal Engine 5 has problems with Win7. I had to update to Win10 myself just to work on it...
I am looking for answers in google, but I can't test any of solutions myself, because I don't have Win7 currently.

and knowing biomechanics would really help to set up correct Physics Asset and IK control system. I don't know biomechanics :(
