REVIEW: I really think with some more gameplay, this can really become a very popular and fun medival physics game that you can save on steam, some things that need work is, the injury system, more simple then i thought, but still really close to perfect, more gameplay, like muliplayer or some sort of campain as it really feels like a sandboxy game. But i give this a 7/10 stars on mechanics, a 100/10 stars on the feel and goryness of the game, and a 3/10 on the game, but the game has a lot of replayablility, once i got this game i spent, around 3 hours strait just killing people, now there are some modes, like free for all, or team vs team, or duels. But still a little short on the game modes.
Amazing project where I hope for a best future possible :). Thx to my KCD skill practice, this game feels like a fresh air. Combat is intuitive and so BLOODY fun. What I think would make this game even better for longer playtime is video Replay or Photo mode so I'll be able to capture all that limbs falling of :D. Edit: Oh yea and I forgot about kicking, that could be fun if added:P.
Looking forward to it! But nowadays I'm sadly scared to play game until get I better machine :(. Last time I tried to play something happend and turned my PC completely off( like one comment I saw down mentioned), so I'll patiently wait for some optimization :). Praying all best for development!
Hey, I Think I just had a idea for the hand positions guide, try adding mouse cursor trails when swinning in 3rd person perspective, As for the fist person view, Use some glent light effects at the edge of the screen, showing which way your swinning hand is, you know, just like simulating the sun flare on your weapons, It much more realistic, and uses much less UI, I hope these ideas will help.
Heyy mantisguys. You will download zipfile you don't need winrar but It's a handy app that will help you unpack zip files. You right click the zip file and press extract all. Then you will get a normal file which you click on, now click on that file you will get another file click on it also. Now you should see something called: "halfswordUE5" click it and enjoy!
If you see HalfSword.exe inside the folder with the game, open it.
Looks like windows 11 is not displaying .exe files (as I have been told). So if you are using win 11 the best way would be to use itch.io/app to download, install and update our game
I hope there's a round review strategy to auto-replay the move in real-time speed after using slow motion during the fight. You know, just like the game "Superhot" did. And by the way, straight-cut and trust attacks are kind of difficult to achieve, especially dealing with an enemy laid down,
I think adding a weapon direction guide like Meyer's Square underneath the mouse cursor, showing which direction the player's hand position is, or anything similar to the "For Honor" style of combat will be a great improvement,
My computer turns off when i start the game up. I already checked and no it isnt something else. I also checked the task manager and everything was normal. It just turns off when i started the game, btw this does happen sometimes not always. And also i would optimize the game. Fucking great idea though and fun game too

Yes, we have not optimized the game yet. Right now we are focused on implementing new features. Once we figure out what we use and what not and how we use systems we have, we can start optimizing them. Also, GPU should not be such a big problem, most of las come from CPU
also this game requires rtx 3070 but stills going bad.you need to play it on high,medium,Xbox360 or potato settings,if you want that the game goes fluid
Playing on High should be a better option. I am not sure we need Epic settings tbh, they don't change anything visually. I just left them, because Unreal has them

There is controller input already. Xbox controller works as intended, just plug and play. Dual Shock 4 needs app called DS4Windows. I havne`t tried Dualsense yet

Amazing game, I've been playing this before the winter map was a thing and the closest thing to a blunt weapon was a shield. I love physics games and honestly this has to be one of the best ones. However, there are some issues, the biggest one being just how much strain it puts on my PC. I have a new 3050 RTX NVIDIA and it gets it really hot in a minute or two. I know this game is pretty detailed and due to its physics it would put quite the strain on a PC, but I think you should try to at least optimize it so that it doesn't become my houses heater for winter lol. Other than that, I'd really appreciate more weapons, like a flail or a polearm/poleaxe, and different types of shields. Will gladly follow this game and its many updates, hopefully I'll be seeing this on steam too in a complete package!

Body Density determines how much resistance a blade meets when it cuts through a body. Zero Body Density will make it feel like you are cutting through air... but you will still need to penetrate the body first (:
Ok so i played it for not that long and i enjoy it so much. But the thing is i'd like to do some finishing moves like with an axe lets say like chop the head or something when they are down and cant get up but when i swing my weapon i keep wobbling around is there any fix to this so that we are a little bit more stable enough to finish the job. Anyway absolute FIRE game keep it up dude!
Ye, we know, finishing the opponents is not the most handy thing rn... but, believe me, it's better, than it was before))) and it will get even better.
Try swinging up -down. Also try holding alt and stabbing with down - up motion.. or also you can try double clicking and holding to stab (:
Next weapon type to come will be polearms. Those will most likely include spears, halberds, pollaxes, bills, lucerne hammers, partisans, glaives, maybe bardiches and... maybe I forgot something... We will start working on those soon, so its all not set in stone yet
We will have falcions for sure. Our goal is to have all the weapons you could expect from game set in 15th century Europe. Flails (both ball on chain and the two handed ones) are a bit tricky, but we have functionality for them already. So we may add them at some point too.
looks like there is some issure between your GPU and post processing in the game. Hall map uses different post-processing settings, so it might explain why it works fine, when other maps don`t. Can you also try to set graphics settings to potato mode? That will probably turn off some of the effects. Meanwhile I will try to understand which part in partucular makes the difference.
Thats VERY difficult given our physics system. Maybe we can thin about it it but muuuuuuuch later. First we need to nail all the mechanics and gameplay
I think is Ragdoll's arms too weak to hold a sword, it looks like it is mushy , can I change it? if not... why did you decide to make this change in the player's arms
They were always like this (if I get it right). BUT I will change it some day.. I hope...
Now physics don't work as well as want. Heavy objects feel weird in hands. That mostly applies to Greatswords and Great Axes, because that the heavies weapons we have so far

maybe maybe. I prefer to use as less UI elements as possible, but there should be a way to know where your arms are in first person
When I'm using the great mace, I just can't make the enemy explode with the swing like the demonstration did tho, how may I achieve it?
I changed some limb damage settings. They were too insane before. Now you need at least several good hits to do that
Reworking whole biomechanics now to allow for better thrusts and not only. Replay cam seems complicated, maybe we can think about it later

hmmm… so all swords do this? There was 1 dagger with broken collisions, but you probably don’t mean that

if offline splitscreen is possible and if its someday on steam, its possible to use remote play. which is very nice and should most likely work.

Made a quck fix for that. Arms get a bit stiffer when you swing a weapon or parry
